Today, on June 13, the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA) hosted the State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro (Montenegro), Ana Raicevic, and the Director of Montenegro's Central Finance and Contracts Unit, Jelena Davidovic, to meet the role and functions of the CFCA in the national European Union (EU) in the implementation system of the Funds.
As EU candidate country Montenegro is preparing to join the EU and related changes to the EU fund implementation system – EU candidate countries: European Commission Delegations decide on the approval of projects, while after becoming an EU Member State Montenegro will itself be able to take decisions on the allocation of EU funds to different sectors of the economy in line with national priorities. .
Therefore, in preparation for the transition to the national EU fund management system, the visit of Montenegro aims to provide more information on Latvia's experience in the transition to a decentralised EU fund implementation system and on the role of the CFCA as the only national liaison body, including resources necessary for the selection and monitoring of EU funds projects and for the implementation of these functions.
