This week, from 11 April to 14 April, the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA) participates in the visit of the Latvian delegation to Uzbekistan organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia.
The purpose of the visit is to learn about the current needs and development plans of public administration institutions (ministries and subordinate institutions) in Uzbekistan and to offer the experience and expertise of Latvian institutions for the support of public administration reforms in Uzbekistan.
The CFCA participates in the visit as the delegated cooperation agency of Latvia to identify, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, opportunities for Latvia to engage in projects aimed at strengthening the administrative capacity in Uzbekistan by attracting external donor funding.
During the visit, meetings were held with various Uzbek government institutions – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, and various Uzbek government departments.
Based on the information gathered during the visit on the needs of the Uzbek public administration and the contacts established, the CFCA, in cooperation with other Latvian and foreign partners, will continue to work on the preparation of cooperation projects in Uzbekistan to share Latvia’s experience in strengthening the capacity of public administration, resource optimisation, and strengthening the rule of law.
The Central Finance and Contracting Agency is represented in the Latvian delegation by its Director Anita Krūmiņa and Dana Heiberga, Director of the Department of Environmental Investment and International Cooperation.
