The Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA), as the competence center for public-private partnerships (PPP), is organizing the annual PPP conference "PPP in Latvia: Shaping Tomorrow Together" on December 5, 2024. This will be the fifth time that experts, practitioners, and potential project implementers from Latvia and other European countries come together to discuss current issues in the PPP field.
Mārtiņš Brencis, Deputy Director of CFCA, will share insights on the latest trends in PPPs. Juris Frīdmanis, the head of the private partner AS "Kekava ABT," will offer reflections from the private partner’s perspective, drawing on experiences from the Ķekava Bypass PPP project. Neringa Pažūsiene, head of the Lithuanian PPP Competence Center, will discuss PPP trends in Lithuania and the integration of European Union (EU) fund financing in projects. Harijs Švarcs, board member of the Latvian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and chairman and partner of SG Capital, will provide advice on preparing PPP projects for investors.
Grzegorz Gajda, a representative of the European Investment Bank, will speak about housing PPP projects in the broader European housing context. Renārs Griškevičs, chairman of the board of the state-owned enterprise Valsts nekustamie īpašumi (State Real Estate), will present Latvia’s affordable rental housing PPP program. Helena Matos, project manager at Infraestruturas de Portugal for the Lisbon-Porto-Vigo high-speed rail project, will share Portugal's best practices in combining PPPs with EU funds. Finally, Vaiva Kirvelaite, Commercial Department Director at Riga Airport, will discuss the progress of the airport service concession project.
The conference will take place in person at the Wellton Riverside SPA Hotel in Riga, 33 11. Novembra Krastmala, and attendance is free of charge (advance registration required; seats are limited). Those unable to attend in person can follow the event online via the CFCA website and Facebook page.
