From November 14th until 23th, the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA), as the Latvian Development Cooperation Agency, organizes a two-week training programme for representatives of Uzbekistan state administration institutions on the corruption prevention system established in Latvia, including the use of digital tools to combat corruption.

Within the framework of the training programme, it is planned to introduce representatives of Uzbekistan to the system established in Latvia for ensuring the rule of law, including state decision-making and executive bodies, law enforcement institutions, as well as the role of civil society in this system.

During the visit, representatives of Uzbekistan will be informed about the reform process implemented in Latvia in the field of ensuring the rule of law and anti-corruption, among them, in relation to Latvia's accession to the European Union and successive improvements implemented.

The public procurement system established in Latvia, the system for control of conflict of interest and declaration of income of public officials, the system for protection of whistleblowers, as well as the functions of the Road traffic Safety Directorate and the reforms implemented will be demonstrated as practical examples.

A visit to Kuldiga is also planned within the framework of the programme, during which the Uzbekistan delegation will be able to become acquainted with the functioning of the anti-corruption system at local government level.

14 representatives from the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Academy of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Anti-Corruption Agency and other institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan will participate in the training programme. .

The training programme shall be implemented using the financing of the Development Cooperation grant project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs “Support to Uzbekistan public authorities in strengthening administrative capacity and preventing corruption)”.
