On 25 and 26 January, the Central Finance and Contracting Agency hosts delegations from Estonian and Lithuanian development cooperation institutions at the first joint Baltic seminar in the field of development cooperation. This forum will serve not only as a networking opportunity, but also as an important experience-sharing event for the transfer of good practices, as the three countries have slightly different models for dealing with development cooperation issues.
During this meeting, a Memorandum was solemnly signed, underlining the will of the three Baltic States to build even closer links in the field of development cooperation in the future. The Memorandum was signed by the Directors of the three development cooperation agencies, underlining its importance both nationally and internationally.
The two-day visit will focus on specific topics of interest to the Baltic Development Cooperation Agencies, such as current developments in Ukraine - what is being done and what could be done better. Future plans will also be discussed, including a number of initiatives where Baltic involvement is at an early stage. One such issue of interest to Latvia would be development cooperation in sub-Saharan Africa.
